Torn Curtain

Another that I think I haven’t seen before, but now I’m not so sure. It has its moments, and who’d have thought Julie Andrews would make such a perfect Hitchcock heroine? The whole sequence on the bus, music and all, is the best thing in the whole movie, it’s flawless. The murder at the farmhouse works fairly well, but would have been better with Bernard Herrmann’s score. The plot is not very interesting, all in all, the movie has everything wrong with it that you would expect from the documentaries about its making.
