Transformers
What can be said of this that either hasn’t been said already or can’t be simply surmised by anyone with a passing knowledge of pop culture and cinema? The visual effects here are absolutely gobsmackingly great and my first absolute win prediction for next year’s Oscars – the only thing with a chance of pushing it aside is the ultra-invisible stuff in Zodiac but I really think it unlikely.
It’s the movie Michael Bay was born to make (thereby answering the question put forth by Trey Parker in Team America, lol) and frankly I’m astonished not to find Jerry Bruckheimer’s name on it too. The story is insane but it really doesn’t matter. I have to be honest, I almost shed a little tear at the end of this … I know, I probably need help
I recall having the toys when I was little, but I really thought that unlike a clearly large number of people my age (including Elias from Clerks II, lol … “So, I’m, like, positioned? or something?” lol) I’d left my love of these things way behind. It’s impossible to really write much about this movie the way I would write about other movies because it’s so beyond compare with anything else. What I know is that this will have pleased a lot of old time fans like to a ridiculous, bed-wetting degree, I mean for the fans, it is really that good. And I got a huge kick out of it too, and kinda can’t wait to see it again.
