I expected a lot more from this movie in the shock department, so it’s highly probable I saw a cut version. Really it’s a distillation of The Crucible, which is shocking enough in addition to being a beautiful drama/romance. The ending flails, but it’s all fairly well put together, and Vincent Price is as interesting as usual.
