Another one I lost, so just writing this as quick as possible with what I can remember of what I originally wrote, sorry. With the wall-to-wall Lennon soundtrack and the participation of Yoko, you should already know before this starts that it’s not going to be an amazingly even-handed approach to its subject. But, y’know, as you see in various clips shown here, Lennon was himself quite amazingly self-deprecating, admitting how ridiculous he knew he looked to some people, so I guess it kind of almost balances itself out. I think honestly my real only criticism of this doc is that it’s not long enough. You can’t argue you with the amazing soundtrack, and there’s a lot of great footage, and the combination of war doc, music doc, and general biography is well covered … I just wish there was more of it.
