The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
... As opposed to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, nice of the makers to make the distinction via word separation
Considering the director of Pearl Harbor had a hand in this, I can fairly say I was actually pretty astonished. This thing scared me a lot. But let’s be fairer – R. Lee Ermy scares me a lot. He is worth watching this movie for. He is terrifying. But honestly, overall, I was impressed with this remake. It is not remotely sanitized, though, so beware. Though it lacks the grittiness of the original, it lacks none of the extreme insanity as far as characters and situations are concerned. It is essentially a better-produced version of the original, so much so that I could see myself one day rating it more highly than the original. The original was a classic because it was the first, and little else. This remake will be no classic, but it’s every bit as entertaining/frightening.
