Oops. I really wanted to see this ‘cos Jodelle Ferland’s in it; unfortunately, not only is she not in it much – she actually plays a boy, lol. Weird. She’s still cute anyway. Anyway. The movie’s directed by the Pang Brothers, and I loved The Eye, plus it also stars Kristen Stewart who was good in Panic Room and Catch That Kid. All’s not lost. Except this movie has been done dozens of times before. In particular, it reminded me of the Anna Paquin movie Darkness – I think.

It has a few good scares, but in the end, I just didn’t care about what was happening. From the tagline (“There is evidence to suggest that children are highly susceptible to paranormal phenomena. They see what adults cannot. They believe what adults deny. And they are trying to warn us,”), you’d think it had some kind of Last Mimzy-ish agenda, but I think that’s expecting too much. Just 90 minutes of scares and grisly FX and unforgivable waste of Jodelle.
