I really don’t know quite how this one passed me by … I loved the partnership of John Cusack and Billy Bob Thornton in Pushing Tin, director Harold Ramis is always a little fun, and did I really see Bonnie and Clyde scribe Robert Benton in the credits too?

As it turns out, this movie is a far cry from nearly all those influences, a slick-enough neo-noir that at turns is a lot nastier than you’d expect. It certainly has its share of laughs, though – I particularly liked all the stuff involving Officer Tyler. Just about worth stumbling across, and certainly worth adding to the Christmas viewing regime.
