I guess it’s nice not to be beginning here with a comment along the lines of, “more of the same,” – I forget the original sequel though I’ve certainly seen it, but I think this even deviates massively from that despite Wes Craven himself being involved with the writing here. I really couldn’t have had less interest past midway. It was therefore a good choice for my tired time mid-morning. It has a few mildly effective scares – beyond that, actually, it kind of is “more of the same” in the end. Replace the soldiers with a family and there isn’t much else.
