Oh yeh … I remember this, lol – it was the trailer that played before War of the Worlds that nearly made me and Gareth pi$$ ourselves laughing. The poster and trailer go something like this –

This and The Descent are bound to end up smudged together in my memory given the tiny amount of brain space I’ll be giving them – they’re almost identical movies, more than Antz and A Bug’s Life, more than Deep Impact and Armageddon, etc etc etc – but for now I’ll say I think this one is marginally better. Descent had a number of funny references in it and to me felt more like a comedy (whether or not it was meant to be, lol), a little like Cabin Fever or something, whereas The Cave is far more the action-horror thing, owes a lot to Aliens etc. It has a number of very cool sequences that made the rascal little boy in me want to shout “Kick ass!” The ending’s a little unnecessary and it’ll be a shame if someone wastes their time on the sequel it’s crying out for. But I’ve written way too much about this movie already, must shut up and watch something good.
