The Bourne Identity

The Bourne Identity 3 star

Yay for ITV (eww, I feel dirty) showing these this week ahead of the new movie’s release :) This installment I recall at least half-watching a couple of times and it never made any kind of impression on me whatsoever. As I’ve said before, it takes a lot for me to like a Matt Damon movie, there’s really just the Kevin Smith movies and The Talented Mr. Ripley stuff for me, and even while I can think of performances of his that I admired, there’s still this, “oh god, him” thing that happens with me … especially when it comes to these movies.

Well, for the first hour, I’ve gotta admit, this did kinda feel like watching the movie for the first time. It gripped me more than ever, the violence is pretty shocking, and John Powell’s score is excellent. But eventually, just like the other times, I don’t know, my attention just drifted further and further away. The movie is slick, that’s for certain. But it never rises much higher than that. It is, ironically, ultimately quite forgettable.

Wow, you watch so many movies. I can’t keep up.

This is the first installment of the bourne series right? I’ve only seen the second one.

I know, the movie entries have pretty much taken over this “blog” lol … I think I must be like clinically obsessed since I know I watch way too many but I frequently find myself thinking I don’t watch enough lol!

anyway yes this is the first … they kind of all blur together for me though.
