The Ballad of Jack and Rose
Poetic like Angela, the only other work by Rebecca Miller that I’ve seen (though between this and that she’s surely one of my favourites), this movie features uniformly great acting and an ending that’s both tear-jerking and hopeful, plus a soundtrack mostly filled with Bob Dylan. It might drag in a couple of spots, but overall this one will stick with me for a long time. One thing that amused me is that the actress who plays Rose was the little girl who got surrounded by compys at the beginning of Jurassic Park 2 – make me feel old, why don’t you? lol. Must watch Angela again soon and get ahold of Miller’s Personal Velocity, which sounds excellent.
