Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story!
Well, it is just basically three regular episodes of “Family Guy” joined together (the opening credits even specify 3 individual ‘parts’ with different writers), rather than a bona fide ‘feature film’ like, say, South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut but this movie’s still better than a lot of the junk floating around this year, and I’ll definitely be buying the DVD. Stewie (the coolest character in the show, let’s face it, great move centering the movie around him) has a near-death experience and it alters the course of his life, the extent of which he only realises when he meets himself, who has travelled back in time for a vacation. When the older Stewie returns to the future, younger Stewie leaps on his back and goes with him and finds out just how much of a letdown he’s become (as well as noticing, and being disappointed by, the lack of statues to him, since surely he would have achieved world domination by now??!), and resolves to go back and fix things. That’s about the story in a nutshell.
It’s as funny as the best of the series, if not funnier, some of the gags go way further than television allows. The DVD is going to have an uncensored soundtrack too, meaning you get to hear the characters saying the F-word (yes, even Stewie). Fans will absolutely love it.
I was gonna be a scaredy cat and hang onto this review until the official release of the movie and I hope nobody sees me as evil for having watched the leaked copy, like I said I’ll definitely be buying the DVD, it looks like it’s gonna have a ton of good extras.
