Yep, brain’s definitely leaking somewhere. Okay, for the record, I’m putting down this glut of rather – err, simple? – movies to the fact I’m slipping behind my goal of 1 movie per day, just by about a month, and I guess I’m realising that in order to do such a thing as watch 365 movies in a year and remain sane, you really need to pad the intense, deep and wonderful stuff with a little mindless junk, lol.

That’s not to say this one in particular is entirely mindless, though … in fact, I personally found it a lot better than its plot summary suggested. In short, it’s The Ring with a video game. If you play this video game, and you die in the game, then, you die in real life the same way. As the movie goes on, reality melds and switches with the game’s reality. I just realised writing that, there’s a parallel here with “Nightmare on Elm Street” ... that’s in addition to comparisons to Evil Dead, Spy Kids 3, Final Destination etc, I came up with during the movie.

Somehow, I’ve gotta be honest, it works. It chickens out with a stupid sequel-baiting ending but that is literally the only truly bad thing I found about it. Worth a look if you just crave “horror! any horror!” anyway.
