This movie really only has one problem in that it goes on far too long, passing the 2 hour mark. There’s also one ridiculous montage in which Diane Keaton simply finds herself unable to stop crying and I don’t know if it’s meant to be funny, sad, what, but it just made me cringe. Outside that montage, though, the Oscar nomination for Keaton turns out to have been more deserved than I thought at the time. Jack Nicholson is his usual self with a little crying thrown in, and Keanu Reeves is sort of shockingly invisible playing just a regular guy for once.
