I found a DVD cover for this that bears the quote, “the best of the Nazi Zombie movies,” lol … I really didn’t realise there were that many of them. This being the first I’d heard of, the first I’ve been able to watch, I have to say, I hope that line isn’t true, because I expected so much more from a Nazi zombie movie. When a 90 minutes 70s gore/exploitation/grindhouse/whatever you wanna call it flick has nothing particularly nasty in its first 40 minutes – especially when it’s got something to do with Nazis, lol – you kinda know you’re in trouble. It does have all those lovely things like crackly muffled sound, bad music and grainy footage that make all these old horrors fun to sit in front of though – not to mention Peter Cushing.
