This movie has great performances from everyone, even Star Wars’ Haydn Christensen. But Peter Sarsgaard excels above all, narrowly followed by Chloe Sevigny who I guess sort of plays the same character as in American Psycho. These kind of movies are both disturbing and disturbingly inspiring – they show how far a lie can take you in this world we now live in. Of course, the means that Stephen Glass used would be useless today, we’re too security conscious… but the idea is still relevant, and you could still fool anyone like he did, if you had the drive he did. Great score by Mychael Danna too.
