Oh man, those laser cutter things still make me wince, even in flash back. Unfortunately, there’s not much else of that weird technical horror that made the original so freaky to me here. This moves the action to a desert (which kind of made the whole thing blur for me with The Hills Have Eyes lol), with guns and hoards of the infected. It’s basically 28 Weeks Later and Day of the Dead thrown together with a lot of Milla Jovoviches, which frankly isn’t as fun as it sounds. Another good time filler if your attention’s not all there, I guess.
