Pulp Fiction
I still enjoy watching this movie, but it’s never anywhere near as fun as the first time when it was so original and different. It was definitely a movie of its own moment at the right time, and while I can still watch it today and quote big chunks of the dialogue right back at the screen, while I can appreciate the all-round great acting, editing, production design, and most of all the soundtrack, nearly all of the songs on which have been forever associated with their respective moments in the movie, it’s definitely not as “great” for me as it seems to still be for others. It’s great because it was pretty much the first to do all these things with dialogue and time etc, and because it was Tarantino’s first “real” movie… but for few other reasons. Nothing really stands out except the instantly quotable… and this is Tarantino, it’s no surprise.
