Hmm. The great, great ending here had me sort of itching to watch this again at which point I think I’ll give it more the attention it deserves. I have to admit that this time around I tuned out a little, even despite the great performances from Kevin Bacon, Laura Dern and Helena Bonham Carter among others, and hey, I like Steve Martin in just about anything. I think the ADD stemmed as usual from one of my stupid ‘things’ – I was convinced that this was written by Martin, and when I saw in the opening credits that it wasn’t, I think my interest waned quite a bit. Like I say, I’ll have to see it again – it’s certainly well made and the acting, in particular Dern, is fantastic enough to bring me back.
