Normal Adolescent Behavior aka Havoc 2
As expected, I found this a much more pleasant experience than Havoc, pretty much from the outset. In contrast to Anne Hathaway’s pointless unleashing of the chest candy 2 seconds into that movie, here, the sex scenes take on an almost beautiful innocence. Sex means something in this movie. Sure, it develops into spanking and outright Mean Girls bitchiness in the end … but that development is quite astonishingly believable, so well are the connections between the characters forged.
What it all has to do with Havoc, well, that’s anybody’s guess. The difference between the two movies is akin to seeing the glass half full or shattered beyond redemption. This movie has faith in the strange and beautiful teenage creatures it portrays, and that makes for a hell of a refreshing change. Rarely, if ever, would I recommend this but there’s absolutely no need to see Havoc before this. Instead, entirely ignore that word on the DVD cover, and settle down to a real interesting teen movie called and about simply, “Normal Adolescent Behavior”.
