[...] This movie is bad in ways no other movie has ever ventured. It’s as if Jared and Jerusha Hess have no idea what made Napoleon Dynamite so beautiful and, taken aback by its success, rushed into making what they think is an imitation of that movie’s crowd-pleasing highlights, only to deliver a dead, oversimplified wreck that never garners more than a mono-syllabic “ha” on the laughter front. Be fooled by the catchy music if you like (and it is catchy, btw, that’ll be the 1 star), but this is one I’ll be developing a blind spot for in the future. The IMDb reviewers trying to use racism as a reason why this movie is bad are really missing a trick – it’s just plain bad, no reason required. I worried when I first saw Napoleon Dynamite that I was merely being “hip” about my adulation for it. This movie, if nothing else, at least serves to highlight the difference between good and bad. I’ve been told by many that I AM THE shy deb look alike. It’s nice to finally find a decent pic of her and find…she really does look like me to the point it scares me! Therefore, my like entire school is calling me by the name of shy deb now. Uh, what can I say…? It’s scary how much she is like me from what I’ve found out also. She’s five foot four(same as me) same hair color and I found out, the same favorite color…blue! Thee gods are out to make me go in shock! I plan on buying this movie to watch it on DVD this weekend and hope to enjoy it as much as my whole school does!
