Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life

Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life

Forgive me, Python fans, but this one struck me a little the same way as The Powerpuff Girls Movie, just with bigger peaks of imagination. The good bits are truly great, and make the movie worth watching again and again. Being ‘just a sketch film’, though, like the Pythons say on the DVD extra features, it kind of lacks the unity that makes Holy Grail and The Life of Brian classics.

I’m sure Matt Stone and Trey Parker must have choreographed “Blame Canada” or the medley in South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut on “Every Sperm is Sacred” here… for some reason it was all I could think of when the chinese dragon appeared in the background, fireworks went off and flags fell from the sky. I guess I’ll have to check SP out again some time.
