I didn’t expect a lot from this movie but I liked the look of the cast. Let’s just say I wasn’t too disappointed. Kirsten Dunst and Julia Roberts are fine, Julia Stiles excels. It’s a very standard plot, a female Dead Poets Society as many have said, but with some very nice art talk scenes. I adore the moment when one of Roberts’ students says, “Yes but it’s not art till someone says it’s art…” and Roberts yelps, “It’s art!” and does her inimitable “I shouldn’t have said that but I wanted to,” expression.
