Mindhunters

Mindhunters

I found this to be a pretty stupid thriller, but I couldn’t help but admire how far it went on the shocks front. It’s basically a variation on the Final Destination idea: a contrived excuse for a series of varied, shocking, and grotesquely beautiful poetic deaths. In many ways, the movie is awful. But the deaths are among the most memorable scenes of the year. When I first saw it, it gave me a lot of hope for Renny Harlin’s reshoot of Exorcist: The Beginning, hope that wasn’t let down. Harlin’s not so bad.
