Magic

What an insane movie this is. It’s the puppet-has-a-life-of-its-own-and-attacks-its-owner story that’s been seen many times, including Child’s Play and the classic horror anthology, Dead of Night. The thing that sets this one apart is the cast and crew: in particular the direction by Richard Attenborough and Anthony Hopkins as both puppet voice and owner. Ann-Margret, Burgess Meredith and David Ogden Stiers, who I’ve only known really for his Disney voices, also put in an appearance.

I can’t think of much to say about it except it being insane – more insane than the other puppet movies already mentioned. Anthony Hopkins is pretty different from usual in this role, and it takes some time until you realise it is actually him doing the puppet’s voice (it’s a bad accent and everything, but you’d still think it could be someone else).
