Local Hero

Local Hero

A tad on the long and boring side (there’s not a lot of plot to mention: big business wants little people’s land, little people… or, little man, rather, won’t give up so easy), Local Hero turns into an incredibly sweet portrait of a small Scottish community, accompanied by the stirring Mark Knopfler score which, even if you’ve never seen the movie, you probably already have some part of engrained on your mind. It reminds me of Loch Ness somewhat too (take out Nessy and this is pretty much exactly what you’re left with): I’m a cheesy so-and-so sometimes and I adore that movie, but this one kind of makes me want to go back and re-assess my love.
