The Legend of Zorro
I think this one possibly wins my personal clunker of the year award. I hope director Martin Campbell was a little rushed on this or something, or next year’s Casino Royale could be unintentionally hilarious. One person that was surely rushed here is James Horner – his “score” here is a horrifically boring repetition of the original’s themes, Catherine Zeta-Jones barely manages to maintain her accent, and every stunt is presented in a ridiculously patronising “Look at the amazing man!” manner.
I really loved the original movie when I first saw it, and at times this sequel seems to be doing everything it possibly can to repeat the success, but its intentions are drowned out by the corniness. I was bored after only 30 minutes and it doesn’t get much better.
