Oddly, this kind of has the same things good about it as Chunky Monkey. In this case, Nicola Stapleton is typically underused, but at least she has nicer hair
The whole thing is set against the backdrop of the Notting Hill Carnival and that side of it is really quite impressively handled for a generic low budget Brit flick. All that said, I completely tuned out towards the end, and despite some slightly dazzling use of colour and some great lines (“Anyway it’s not called shelf-stacking, it’s called shelf-rotation …” “Use your rotation skills then!” “But I don’t rotate black people, Smiggs, only food stuffs, ‘ousehold sometimes …” lol), it struggles to hide the fact that underneath it all, it’s that worst kind of British movie: a Guy Ritchie wannabe.
