Even The Emperor’s New Groove didn’t stick in my mind that long after I saw it so it goes without saying that this won’t either, but there’s no complaints here. Like Lilo and Stitch 2, and a growing proportion of the ‘pointless Disney sequels’, this is absolutely as good as it could’ve been. It breezes by in its 75 minutes, has gags for both kids and adults, and brings back the the original cast. Some of the gags here are just as hilarious as those in the first movie. If I had to find something wrong with it, it’s that it’s oddly episodic – I was really into the way the movie begins, with the youth potion etc, and then it almost disconnects entirely and goes off with the kids camping. Once we’re into that segment, it’s all plain sailing again, but it could be a smoother transition. Gotta love Eartha Kitt’s Yzma with the cat ears, lol. I realised while watching this and laughing at the fact that she’s back being Catwoman again that they kinda did the same gag in the first movie when she transforms into the cute kitty … I didn’t even notice the connection back then, but here it’s just totally knock over the head funny, or it was to me anyway. Then, I do like Drake and Josh right now, lol.
