Kicking and Screaming

Kicking and Screaming 3 star

... or, Yet Another Kiddy Sports Movie. It felt like that to me at least, lol, I guess my timing in watching them all so close together is unfortunate. Anyway, again I find myself wanting to re-iterate my general hate of sports movies so when one is even watchable, I kind of take that as quite an amazing thing to start with, and this is most certainly watchable.

Will Ferrell is always a laugh, and I actually prefer him in these more natural roles than things like Anchorman and Talladega Nights. I love the (admittedly entirely pointless lol) whole coffee “subplot” (if it can be called that lol), too – “Yes! We’re having a half caf!!” “Yaaaaaay.” “I’m a Frequent Coffee Drinker, I have a card! Do you have a card? Do you have a card? Do you have a card?” “We don’t even have a Frequent Coffee -” “That’s a video card.” “DAMN!”

On a totally unrelated note, I just realised towards the end of this movie that that’s Josh Hutcherson from Bridge to Terabithia as Ferrell’s son, just as I realised a little earlier during RV that he was Robin Williams’ son – great little actor – and, of course, Ferrell voiced the man in the yellow suit in Curious George – coinkidinks which to me kinda complete a surprisingly joyous day of movie watching :)
