Infuriating is an understatement for this one and it’s most certainly not for me. I haven’t seen Mulholland Dr. yet so as I understand it I’m missing something to begin with but that’s still no excuse for a movie to be so impenetrable. Even if I interpolate a fair amount of cohesion for my not having seen Mulholland, even if I were to believe with all the statements including the word genius about Lynch and his work here – and maybe one day I will – even if I were to do that, it’s still no excuse for a movie like this to run to 3 hours. That said, I’ll certainly give it another try whenever I’ve the time in the future, but it’ll always be at least an hour too long.
