Halloween II 4 star

A great sequel, following, as many of the best do, directly on from the first and set mostly in a hospital – allowing for such nasty deaths involving needles, scalpels, and even the old slippery blood on the floor. The revamped score, though not as good as what John Ottman would ultimately do for H20, is insane. The bloody tears on Michael’s mask at the end are a really neat touch I never noticed before. I found Jamie Lee Curtis’ performance much better here than the original, too. Like Hellraiser 2, I frankly can’t imagine now that I have the movies easily to hand ever not following the original with this, so much is it a part of the same story – especially, in this case, considering what followed, lol.
