Golden Globes 2009

Was about to say these always creep up on me too fast, but I keep forgetting they weren’t even on last year, lol … I haven’t seen all the nominees but I done my best, hehe.

(6/14 … well, I will insist on “predicting” my ideals, hehe)

Best Motion Picture: DramaSlumdog Millionaire Green! (not seen The Reader and need to see Button again … probably Button is the best of the five however)

Best Actress: Drama – Angelina Jolie, Changeling Wrong! (not seen Doubt, Rachel… or I’ve Loved You… but this is the first role since Girl, Interrupted where I actually agreed with everyone else about Angelina Jolie … WOW) (lol, you could kinda see the Winslet win coming when she speeched herself dry for the first one)

Best Actor: Drama – Frank Langella, Frost/Nixon Wrong! (not seen The Wrestler – Rourke looks awesome though – plus the jury’s still out here on Button)

Best Motion Picture: Musical or ComedyMamma Mia! Wrong! (not seen Vicky Cristina… but this is the category I guess I’m really really rooting for tonight)

Best Actress: Musical or Comedy – Meryl Streep Wrong! (not seen Vicky Cristina… or Last Chance… – Sally Hawkins would be nice, I guess, but come on, if Mamma Mia! wins nothing else it should win this)

Best Actor: Musical or Comedy – Brendan Gleeson Wrong! (not seen VC, Pineapple… or Last Chance…In Bruges certainly deserves something and Colin Farrell seems too obvious, plus I know everybody else hates him as an actor LOL) (aww, do I get a half point?! lol)

Best Supporting Actress – Kate Winslet Right! (shrugs – I’ve seen none of these, but what I’ve seen of Kate in The Reader looks good)

Best Supporting Actor – Heath Ledger Right! (not seen Doubt or Duchess and I’m sorry but the Tropic Thunder nominations are a joke even though the movie was pretty good)

Best Animated Feature – at present I’m more likely to watch Bolt again, but Wall•E was practically a certified masterpiece, this is a no-brainer Right!

Best Foreign Language FilmWaltz With Bashir Right! (seen none of them but it seems to me it’s between this and Gomhorrah – and seeing as Waltz… ain’t up for animated …)

Best Director – David Fincher, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Wrong!

Best ScreenplaySlumdog Millionaire Right!

Best Original ScoreChangeling Wrong! (so glad to see this or Gran Torino nominated – both scores are just so haunting – haven’t seen Defiance yet) (totally forgot A.R. Rahman was up for this … d’oh! lol)

Best Original SongGran Torino Wrong! (not heard Springsteen’s or the Cadillac Records song – but again this one really haunts me. Wall•E and Bolt songs were great too)
