Ghost World

Ghost World

I was way more into this movie on a second viewing that I was on the first. I think it’s because I watched it for the first time directly after reading the comic book, which I still think is way better, somehow. But I really got all the cynicism and sarcasm more this time round. And I really noticed the Edward Hopper-like imagery, since I’d been to a Hopper exhibition just days before.

The movie isn’t groundbreaking, but then neither is the comic book. It’s just sad, and lonely, quiet, and beautiful, in its unique way.
