Huge yawn ... It’s possible I just wasn’t in the mood for much at all tonight, but I still couldn’t have been more disappointed by this. It occurred to me as I put it on that it’s one of those strange movies I’ve somehow managed to desperately want to see for nearly 10 years yet never quite gotten round to seeing. Adrian Lyne, Jodie Foster … the slick good-looking shots and great acting are all here, it feels authentic and true, but the story is absolutely dead air and the emotions with it. It has a nice soundtrack, but in the end it’s just beyond saving.
