Flight of the Living Dead: Outbreak on a Plane aka Plane Dead
Again, one kind of knows what to expect here. It’s essentially “Zombies on a Plane” ... actually, it’s literally “Zombies on a Plane”, what am I saying? And like I said earlier, this wasn’t my planned viewing tonight which probably puts it at a disadvantage. But being as it’s a straight-to-DVD movie, being as it’s so like the mothereffin’ snakes movie I didn’t get much out of either (though, weirdly, apparently this was made first …), I think it’s safe to say that my, “well, at least that’s out of the way” response isn’t far off the mark.
It’s beautifully bloody, but very, very formulaic. It all gets much better once all hell finally breaks loose, and I must admit – particularly following the last two movies – I personally enjoyed it more in the end than Snakes. The post-crash material at the end is particularly effective, nice and apocalyptic looking like all zombie movies should be. But I’m glad I didn’t save it for Halloween.
