Kinda thought I’d already have a review of this to work with. Hmph.

Though it goes a little too silly in the end (and if I recall correctly, the featurettes about test screenings etc on the DVD make all of this make sense), this is mostly a perfect horror / thriller, perfectly set-up, and it’s no wonder that as a series it’s still running. I can’t wait to see part 3. The opening sequence remains the scariest thing I’ve ever seen, it still leaves me numb, sublimely executed in all crew departments. It’s amazing how this movie glides between comedy and horror, and there are plenty of moments where you don’t even know which genre you wanna be in. There’s thousands of viewings left in this one.
