Eep. Another movie absolutely not to eat during, lol. I thought I knew what to expect from this one – but I kind of knew I’d like it, even if it turned out to be merely the fiction version of Super Size Me; simply that in the hands of Richard Linklater is something I want to see. But this movie is much more than simply that – it’s best put by Kris Kristofferson early on, “This isn’t about good people or bad people. It’s about the machine that’s taken over this country. It’s like science fiction or something…” If that line immediately hits a nerve in you, if you immediately recognise that feeling, that gobsmacked, “Is everyone else blind?!” sensation you can get just walking down a crowded street, then this movie is for you. It’s as much about the bullshit that’s everywhere in all walks of life as it is about the shit in the burgers. I think personally I really needed that this week.
