This installment of the trilogy makes a lot more of both the comedy and the visual effects. Although it slightly confused me at the beginning since I watched it directly following the first movie, I liked the way they sort of amended history by removing all the other kids from the backstory in a recap on the first movie. It reminded me of how Robert Rodriguez reshot the end of El Mariachi for a flashback in Desperado. And the ending is so amazingly far out there it almost makes me wish they hadn’t made Army of Darkness to explain it.
