I felt safe coming to this regards writing the review because I had a feeling it’d be an easy one to write about, and I wasn’t wrong. My soul interest in it is, I’ll watch absolutely anything AnnaSophia Robb is in. Lea Thompson’s minor role came as a pleasant surprise but that’s about all the extra I have to say about it. It’s either interesting or unsurprising to me that no one has even bothered to review this movie on the IMDb yet at the time of writing … I’ve had the opportunity to watch it for a few months now and I just noticed it’s in fact now available on DVD, in the UK at least. The story is a little boy who cried wolf, a little Robert Rodriguez’ Spy Kids or Sharkboy and Lavagirl. The tone plays like a children’s TV show from the 80s or early 90s and the acting, direction, etc do likewise. AnnaSophia is pretty as ever but she suffers from the bad script and direction. I know this’ll be easy enough to do anyway … but I recommend you pass.
