“Have you been eating meat, Grant? Was it even organic?”

Ah! Kind of an accidental vegan double bill there, lol. Weta Workshop doing the visual effects here kind of cements the Peter Jackson connection people will make between this and his earlier films, but I find it kind of a mistaken comparison. Though I understand where it’s coming from, I didn’t find this anywhere close to Braindead, Bad Taste, even Meet the Feebles. I didn’t even find it as good as Undead from a few years back, which also drew comparisons to early Jackson. I mean, for a start the budget here is obviously higher. I mean … hello … Weta … (ok, Feebles was a little bigger due to the puppets, but I think Bad Taste and Braindead may actually contain pieces of shoestring lol)

All I could think of all the way through was the obvious pun, “I see dead sheople,” and how great an opportunity it would’ve been for a Two Pints movie (here’s a clip if you don’t know what I’m talking about lol). I won’t deny that the movie has it’s moments … but it’s definitely depressing that this is playing on cinema screens while something as unique as Blood Car languishes on video shelves.
