… And Justice for All
It’s a long time since I first saw this movie. As a huge Al Pacino fan just beginning to discover his non-Godfather roles, I was looking forward to it then. This time I was looking forward to seeing whether or not it was as good as I remembered. For long stretches, I was fairly let down, but Pacino’s performance is easily one of his best – in my mind I’m comparing it to Dustin Hoffmann in Lenny, the exasperated passion of these characters is almost tangible. There are so many moments that can really only be described as classic 70s moments – and the explosive turnaround in the final scene (which is still, if not more, relevant today) make it easily the best courtroom drama I’ve seen.
