There’s a huge part of me wonders exactly why this movie was made: it’s almost literally a remake of the first Anaconda which, while watchable, was not exactly an even half-good movie in itself. But, I have to admit that I found myself pretty engrossed in it, even more as the movie progressed. There’s more nasty jungle critters to be afraid of this time round, such as a paralysing spider, and the effects are just a touch better. Acting, however, could really use the cast of the first. You might not believe me when I say this movie makes you long for Jon Voight’s leery 1997 performance, but trust me, it does.
