Alien: Resurrection Alien: Resurrection

This is where the Alien series truly deviates from where it began. The title itself outlines the contrived plot to bring Sigourney Weaver back. With Jean-Pierre Jeunet at the helm, there are of course some extraordinary visual moments (after an intense underwater escape from the aliens, a hilarious and brilliantly executed moment with a spider), and in the new Special Edition, some nice surprises, my favourite of which is the ending in a future Paris (well, obviously I would love this, lol). I find it more enjoyable than either the first movie or the 3rd, but not as artful, and I don’t think any sequel will ever match Aliens for me.
