Smoosh – She Like Electric 4 star

November 13th, 2005 by surlaroute

I just wanted up this review to 4-stars and add to my “first impressions” below that since I actually bought it, this album has truly grown on me. I now can’t open iTunes without playing a Smoosh song. Also, this interview indicates that there may be a third member coming along afterall! If only I could get to London at the end of the month!! :*-(

22nd October:

I don’t know quite what to say about this one but it left me pretty gobsmacked. Smoosh are two girls aged 10 and 12 and this is 30 minutes of their music. It’s, perhaps not surprisingly, a little clunky in places, not polished like a top 40 release. The only instruments are drums and piano with a few glimmers of synths. They could maybe use a third member to the band, a bass or a guitar. On the whole, it’s fairly average stuff, but what it leaves you with is a glimpse at what these young girls could become. And it’s a lot of fun to listen to. I can’t wait to hear more from Smoosh.
